Update from Mikayla, Grace and Nadia

What's up Canada! It's Mikayla, Grace, and Nadia.

Today was the first day of VBS. Our day started around 6:15 with the sound of dogs and exotic birds in the village. Kids started to arrive at around 7:30, although the camp started at 8:00. As the morning progressed the campers expressed more enthusiasm for learning God's word.

During the bible discovery a young boy surprised Mikayla's group. He gave away all of his chocolate coins from the activity to his friends, leaving none for himself. He put others above him which was one of the lessons that we learned today.

After VBS, we ate lunch with our Honduran friends. Then a group of us, including Grace, went to Balibrea. While in Balibrea we painted the front wall of the church. We intended to hand out care packages to three families in need, but... there was a thunderstorm!

Back at the school we started on the work projects. When out of nowhere the power went out! It started raining cats and dogs. Suddenly we heard a huge BANG, mangos were falling from the tree! We immediately began playing soccer in the field while the rain was pouring down on us. We started to slip and slide in the mud. It was lots of fun!
